The Wethersfield Police Department continues to distribute free firearm safety kits as part of Project ChildSafe. The goal of this nationwide initiative is to raise the awareness about safe and responsible firearm ownership and storage. The safety kits include a cable-style gun lock and safety brochure. The kits can be picked up anytime at the Wethersfield Police Department, 250 Silas Deane Highway and are available to anyone free of charge.
